Toronto, ON – June 6, 2019 – Game Theory Films, a Toronto-based boutique film distribution company, today announced the details of ‘Quebec on Screen’, a weekend event featuring three critically acclaimed Quebecois films. Screening over July 5 to 7, the lineup includes 2018 Canadian Screen Awards (CSA) Best Picture winner A Colony (Une Colonie) by Geneviève Dulude-De Celles, the multiple-award winningThe Great Darkened Days (La Grande Noirceur) by Maxime Giroux, and 2018 TIFF Canada’s Top Ten and CSA nominated film Genesis (Genèse) by Philippe Lesage. All three filmmakers are expected to attend in addition to Émilie Bierre, star of A Colony (Une Colonie) and Genesis (Genèse).

A Colony (Une Colonie)

Mylia sets out to find her own place, sometimes awkwardly as she deals with the absurdity of adolescence - experiencing great discomfort but cherished victories.
The Great Darkened Days (La Grande Noirceur) Director: Maxime Giroux Cast: Martin Dubreuil, Sarah Gadon, Reda Kateb, Romain Duris, Buddy Duress, Cody Fern, Soko Synopsis: While a world war rages, Philippe, a draft-dodger from Quebec, takes refuge in the American West, surviving by competing in Charlie Chaplin impersonation contests. As Philippe makes his long journey home, he encounters various characters under the sway of a destructive madness borne of the chaotic times. His voyage, both violent and fascinating, is a hallucinatory initiation to the darker side of the American dream.
Genesis (Genèse) Director: Philippe Lesage Cast: Noée Abita, Théodore Pellerin, Édouard Tremblay-Grenier, Pier-Luc Funk, Émilie Bierre Synopsis: In private boys' college, Guillaume, 16, is secretly in love with his best friend. When his half-sister Charlotte, 18, is offered by her boyfriend to have an open relationship, everything changes. Felix, 12, falls in love with Beatrice at camp.
