Golden Globe nominated Bill Paxton (“Big Love”, EDGE OF TOMORROW, NIGHTCRAWLER), Colm Feore (“House of Cards Season 3”, THOR, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2) and Kevin Durand (“The Strain”, FRUITVALE STATION) have joined emerging stars Sophie Nélisse (THE BOOK THIEF) and Josh Wiggins (MAX, HELLION) in the thriller MEAN DREAMS, directed by award-winning filmmaker Nathan Morlando (CITIZEN GANGSTER). Written by Ryan Grassby and Kevin Coughlin, the film is produced by William Woods of Woods Entertainment and executive produced by Allison Black, Patrice Théroux, Jonathan Bronfman, Rob McGillivray, Ben Stranahan, Mark Gingras, Andre Bharti and Tom Spriggs. The film is currently shooting in Northern Canada.

In this thriller, MEAN DREAMS follows the courageous and spirited Jonas (Wiggins) and fiercely stoic Casey (Nélisse) as they embark on a journey that will change their lives forever. When resentment of their broken and abusive homes builds to a boiling point, Jonas takes the lead in their escape by stealing a bag full of drug money from Casey’s corrupt father - local cop Wayne Caraway (Paxton). With the stolen cash as their only means to a better life, Casey joins Jonas and together they learn to con, fight, and bribe in order to survive. A coming of age thriller, MEAN DREAMS brings together the desperation of life on the run and the beauty and wonder of first love. 

The film is financed by Tip Top Productions, Project AMB, Vigilante Productions, Telefilm Canada, Northern Ontario Heritage Fund, and Ontario Media Development Corporation.
