Break out your hoverboards; power up the flux capacitor; and crank up Huey Lewis and The News … Cineplex is going Back to the Future

From the Academy Award-winning filmmakers Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis and starring Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson, the groundbreaking adventure Back to the Future sparked one of the most successful trilogies ever.

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of this beloved and iconic classic, October 21, 2015 has been declared “Back to the Future Day” worldwide.  The date is significant, because it marks the exact day and year that Marty McFly travels into the future in Back to the Future Part II.

To mark the date, Cineplex Entertainment’s Front Row Centre Events is bringing Back to the Future parts one and two to theatres across the country on October 21, followed by the full trilogy on October 25.

Tickets go on sale on July 3, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the theatrical release of the first film.  A portion of ticket sales will be donated to Team Fox, benefitting The Michael J. Fox Foundation.  The Michael J. Fox Foundation is a registered charity in Canada.

"The Back to the Future films helped define a generation," said Brad LaDouceur, Vice President, Event Cinema, Cineplex Entertainment.  "We couldn’t be happier to bring these films back to the big screen – the exact place so many Canadians first enjoyed them.”

“Our Team Fox members — and dedicated Back to the Future fans — always find creative ways to raise awareness and big dollars for research,” said Jason Rice, Director of Development, The Michael J. Fox Foundation. “Cineplex is galvanizing fans to take it to the next level by experiencing the films again and help us get another step closer to our goal of curing Parkinson’s.”
