Phoebe Waller-Bridge's Award-Winning Production Fleabag Leads Cineplex Events’ Fall/Winter Stage Series

Toronto, ON, (TSX: CGX), August 29, 2019 – Cineplex Events today announced its 2019 fall/winter Stage Series line-up, featuring new and classic productions captured live from London’s West End. Beginning September 12, audiences across Canada will be able to enjoy performances from the historic National Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe in the comfort of their local theatre.

First up on September 12, the hit play Fleabag makes its way to big screens for a one-night-only event. This one woman show-turned TV series, led by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, takes viewers through the wild and unpredictable comedic trip that is her mind. Her quick and unfiltered wit is sure to make audiences break out into laughter at the most inappropriate times. 

Other notable productions in this year’s line-up include:

  • Sally Field and Bill Pullman in All My Sons;
  • An award-winning performance by James Corden in One Man, Two Guvnors;
  • A Midsummer Night’s Dream, starring Game of Thrones actress Gwendoline Christie;
  • Andrew Scott (Fleabag) leads in Present Laughter;
  • A live broadcast of The Lehman Trilogy directed by Sam Mendes (SkyfallAmerican Beauty);
