Susan Smythe-Bishop« Back to Team
With over 20 years of experience, Susan is a highly respected member of the arts community. One of our most creative team members, Susan has the keen ability to see unconventional potential in projects, taking them to the next level. She also has the loudest (and best) laugh in the office and has an unhealthy obsession with gummy bears.
Prior to joining Touchwood PR in 2012, Susan was an integral member of the PR teams at Alliance Films and Maple Pictures, overseeing publicity and promotional activities and events for many high-profile films.
Susan is the co-founder and co-director of Pioneering Women, a mentoring association that supports women working in the Canadian film distribution business and recently launched her own illustrated site that chronicles her experience working in the film industry.
If you could trade places with one person for the day, who would it be?
Ekchart Tolle, just so I could understand what it’s like to feel his kind of calm for a solid day.
What is the first thing you notice about people?
Their energy, good or bad. I almost always can feel or sense that right away and as I get older, I just want to run as fast as I can from those with bad/negative energy.
One thing you can’t live without:
Favourite movie quote:
Shel? Sheldon? No, no, you did not have great sex with Sheldon… A Sheldon can do your income taxes, if you need a root canal, Sheldon’s your man… but humpin’ and pumpin’ is not Sheldon’s strong suit. It’s the name. ‘Do it to me Sheldon, you’re an animal Sheldon, ride me big Shel-don.’ Doesn’t work.
- Harry Burns (Billy Crystal) in WHEN HARRY MET SALLY.
