(TORONTO – March 5, 2020) – Toronto Comicon, the annual pop culture convention presented by FAN EXPO Canada, returns to cap off the March Break with an epic programming lineup for all ages. The three-day show offers fans plenty of opportunities to geek out over the 400+ Exhibitors, renowned Comic Artists, professional and amateur Cosplayers, Workshops led by industry front-runners, a 10,000 sq. ft. Family Zone and an all new Podcast Stage. Fans of comics, sci-fi, fantasy and animation will converge on the Metro Toronto Convention Centre’s South Building from March 20-22, 2020. New this year, fans will have even more time to explore the convention floor with extended hours beginning at 10AM on Friday, March 20. Tickets are on sale now at comicontoronto.com/tickets.

New this year, the Podcast Stage will be home to all things audio including informative panels for the budding podcaster and live tapings of popular Canadian podcast series. Taking the stage will be 2019 Canadian Podcast Awards-winner for Best Debut Podcast, The Villain Was Right; multi-award-winning podcast That’s How I Remember It, with host Clare McConnell (Star Trek: Discovery); award-winning sci-fi and fantasy storytellers, PodCastle and The Adventures of Starship Coconut; The Reality Check, debunking popular myths using science and critical thinking; film discussion podcasts Talk From Superheroes and Someone Else’s Movie; among others. The Family Zone returns to Toronto Comicon for a second year with even more programming packed into 10,000 sq. ft. of the convention floor. Highlights include Quidditch Matches and Medieval Battles; Princess Meet and Greets; Sorting Hat Ceremonies and Hogwarts School Photo Ops; a Giant Lite Brite; Painting, Plushie Making and Origami Crafting Workshops; a look at the ROM’s Bloodsuckers: Legends to Leeches exhibit; and so much more.
Cosplay programming returns to Toronto Comicon 2020 with special guests Jillea, The Cosplay Sisters, Lee Howard and Violet Love, to name a few. Fans who wish to embody their favourite characters will find no shortage of things to do. Couples and Kids Costume Contests, official Meetups and the popular Cosplay Red Carpet, where they can have their picture snapped by a professional photographer, will take place throughout the weekend.
New this year, fans can save on the cost of admission and travel together with the GO Combo Saver Program. With Union Station only a few minutes away from the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, getting to the event is easy on GO transit. In addition, March 20 will be Transit Friday at Toronto Comicon; fans can show their PRESTO Card at the Box Office on that day and receive 40% off their cost of tickets.
