POWERHOUSE COMEDY COUPLE MATT BARAM AND NAOMI SNIECKUS REVISIT THEIR SKETCH COMEDY ROOTS IN BARAM & SNIECKUS: YOU AND ME BOTH

The Second City alumni and improv power couple Matt Baram (Nickelodeon/YTV’s Make it Pop) and Naomi Snieckus (CBC’s Mr. D) have created BARAM & SNIECKUS: YOU AND ME BOTH, an 80-minute comedic triumph that explores life, love and the male/female dynamic told through a satirical sketch lens. The show will explore everything from that familiar awkward first kiss with your cousin to the unexplored territory of “spaceship infidelity”.

“This is the first time we have done a full-fledged sketch comedy show since we were at The Second City almost 10 years ago,” says Snieckus.  “Most people know our improvisational work, but we are really excited to show audiences a new piece that allows us to play in the sketch comedy sandbox again.”

Baram and Snieckus, who share the titles of Co-Artistic Director and Co-Founder at the Toronto-based NTOW, breathed life and laughter into this sketch comedy production using their unique point of view and chemistry that comes from being a real life couple.

Added Baram, “We are so proud of all the work our team at The National Theatre of the World has done over the past 6 years. The support we have received from audiences and our community was what inspired and motivated us to create BARAM & SNIECKUS: YOU AND ME BOTH.”

The show’s music director is Toronto-based Scott Christian whose first musical Hero & Leander was a hit at the 2011 SummerWorks Performance Festival and who most recently composed A Misfortune which was programmed as part of the 2014 Next Stage Theatre Festival. Lighting the show is lighting designer Christina Cicko, who has previously worked as the long-time stage manager for The Second City as well as Cannibal! The Musical’s run in Toronto.

Shows will run Wednesday-Saturday at 7:30pm and Saturday & Sunday will have matinee's at 2pm. Tickets are available for purchase at the Arts Box Office website here.
