Woods Entertainment Launches Line 200 Inc., a $2.5M Fund

Toronto/Los Angeles, May 14, 2019-- Producer William Woods (Mean DreamsCastle In the Ground) in partnership with long-time producing and financing collaborators Tom Spriggs (Mean DreamsGiant Little Ones), Rob McGillivray (Mean Dreams, Calibre, Castle In The Ground), Ben Stranahan (Mean Dreams, Calibre, Population Zero), and John Hansen (Population Zero, Killing Diaz, Castle in the Ground) today announced the launch of Line 200 Inc., a $2.5M fund that will invest in international co-productions and Canadian feature film projects produced under the Woods Entertainment Prodco.

The fund will invest equity into feature films up to 30% of the total budget for 1 or 2 films per year over the next five years and will be working primarily on projects in the $2-10M budget range.

“It’s always exciting to see the private sector get involved in independent film.  Line 200 will allow greater resources for us and our partners to achieve even more with our projects,” says Woods.  “We’re also eager to forge new relationships with international producers and Canadian filmmakers who are doing work with both philosophical merit and commercial potential. Our intention is to find projects with challenging themes and new perspectives."

Castle in the Ground, directed by Joey Klein and starring Alex Wolff, Imogen Poots, Neve Campbell, Keir Gilchrist and Tom Cullen is the first film to be financed by Line 200 Inc. and is currently in post-production.
