Director
Touchwood PR is looking for an energetic, creative and kind individual to join our growing team in the full time role of Director. Our ideal candidate has a breadth of experience across film, television, and arts & culture with a strong track record working with media, content creators, and industry professionals. We are looking for a critical thinker, a team player, who can work in a fast-paced environment and has a true passion for the arts with strong event planning skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage daily account/project deliverables, including planning, implementation and execution of press days and events;
- Liaise with Client at times as primary or secondary contact, helping to oversee resources, budgets, deadlines;
- Maintains and provides client account & media relations status updates ensuring work stays on track to achieve desired success;
- Develop materials, including writing and editing when required;
- Drive outreach strategy, focusing on proactive media and content creator pitching, features, editorial/business press, and broadcast segments;
- Oversee social media strategy for assigned accounts;
- Provide strategic analysis, evaluating program results and highlighting successes;
- Generate creative event programming and lead team execution when necessary;
- Plan and execute red carpet events and influencer events;
- Research potential program opportunities for clients;
- Develop media/event/annual wrap reports as needed;
- Liaise with talent reps and industry spokespeople;
- Draft key messaging for clients when applicable and conduct media training;
- Foster strong relationships with clients, media, and content creators;
- Support new business development as needed, including brainstorming, proposal drafting and pitch meetings;
- In conjunction with the leadership team, assist with managing team dynamics, consistently motivating, mentoring and developing team members.
Qualifications / Experience Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in public relations, communications, entertainment or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing integrated publicity campaigns within film, television, arts, culture, entertainment, or related sectors.
- Strong track record of securing media coverage and having relationships with journalists, producers, content creators, and industry stakeholders.
- Proven experience planning and executing high-profile events, premieres, festivals, press days, or influencer activations.
- Exceptional written, editing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities, with experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience mentoring or managing junior team members.
- Ability to think strategically while maintaining strong attention to detail and execution.
- A genuine passion for film, television, arts, and culture.
- French is considered a strong asset.
