Cineplex Events’ Fifth Season Of ‘In The Gallery’ is a Masterstroke with Canaletto, David Hockney and Paul Cézanne
Cineplex Events is pleased to announce the return of the popular In The Gallery series that gives audiences an inside look at the world’s greatest works of art and art exhibitions.  In the fifth season of In the Gallery, art lovers can gain unprecedented access into the lives of renowned master artists CanalettoDavid Hockney andPaul Cézanne, their art and the galleries that house their works.

The season will kick off on November 9, 2017 with three new films from EXHIBITION ON SCREEN. Canaletto & the Art of Venice is an immersive journey into the life and art of Venice’s famous artist. Audiences will get an up close look at the amazing works of Britain’s most popular artist, David Hockney, with David Hockney at the Royal Academy of Arts, and French post-Impressionist painter Paul Cézanne with Cézanne - Portraits of a Life.

“We are very proud of our longstanding partnership with EXHIBITION ON SCREEN which for the past five years has brought the works of some of the world’s renowned artists to local theatres,” said Brad LaDouceur, Vice President, Cineplex Events.  “A passion for the arts is something that should always be nurtured and if you are unable to travel to a gallery or museum abroad, this is the perfect way to experience a wide range of outstanding work.”

“The films in the new season are extremely strong. The Royal Collection has never allowed access such as this before and the mix of paintings, palaces and Venice is very rich. Hockney is one of the world's favourite living artists and we have privileged access to two of his recent landmark sell-out exhibitions as well as three interviews with him. Cézanne is quite simply one of the greatest artists to have ever lived,” said Phil Grabsky, Executive Producer, EXHIBITION ON SCREEN.  “EXHIBITION ON SCREEN is now in 55 countries, but Canada has been a supporter from the start and we have a loyal and growing audience in what is also one of my favourite countries. Now shooting in 4k, the quality of the images that can be seen on cinemas is quite simply staggering – something that has not been possible before. As The Guardian put it, 'EXHIBITION ON SCREEN has become a global phenomenon'.”

This season of Cineplex Events’ In The Gallery will run through May 2018 with additional titles to be announced in the coming weeks.
