Highlights of this year’s programming include:
New Faces of Comedy - One of the most highly anticipated industry talent showcases at Just For Laughs, the New Faces of Comedy series serves as a launching pad for the next generation of comedic talent. Handpicked by JFL producers, New Faces gives emerging stand-ups, characters, writers, and creators invaluable exposure in front of the industry, opening doors to new opportunities and broader recognition. These signature showcases continue to be a celebrated tradition, shining a spotlight on the brightest comedy stars of tomorrow.
Deadline’s Comedy Means Business Live Podcast Recording - As part of a new partnership with Deadline, ComedyPRO will present a live recording of Comedy Means Business hosted by Deadline’s Matt Grobar, to kick off ComedyPRO’s Opening Cocktail. The live podcast brings Deadline’s industry perspective directly into the room for a sharp conversation on the business, culture, and future of comedy, while ComedyPRO’s signature cocktail setting brings buyers, producers, creators, executives, comedians, and partners together for the conversations and connections that build meaningful relationships and drive the industry forward. Additional details will be announced soon.
State of the Industry Address - Just For Laughs alums Gianmarco Soresi and Jay Jurden will deliver ComedyPRO’s State of the Industry address, a comedian-led commentary on the business of comedy right now. Presented as part of ComedyPRO’s Thursday evening cocktail, this featured event offers a sharp, entertaining look at the industry we’re here to celebrate, challenge, and influence. The address turns the industry back on itself, taking stock of the platforms, power players, trends, creative pressures, market shifts, and cultural contradictions defining comedy today. Equal parts industry insight, comedic provocation, and well-aimed roast, it looks at where comedy stands now, where it’s headed next, and who gets to shape the conversation.
“I am very excited to be delivering the 2026 state of the industry address at JFL with my good friend and notable heterosexual, Gianmarco Soresi. Hopefully both of us can use this as an opportunity to introduce ourselves to new fans, build industry connections, or even better, become conservative grifters,” said Jay Jurden.
“In the ever-changing landscape of comedy, I hope that we can remind our peers that one thing remains the same: Comics will always have something to bitch about,” said Gianmarco Soresi. “And if you’re gonna complain, the least you could do is make it funny!”
“Comedians and industry attendees shouldn’t worry because both of us are known for being extremely easy-going and mostly keeping our opinions to ourselves especially on social media,” commented Jay and Gianmarco.
