Spinster, Starring Chelsea Peretti, To Be Acquired By Vertical Entertainment for US/UK Distribution

Spinster Acquired By Vertical Entertainment for US/UK Distribution

Spinster will make its US premiere at the Miami Film Festival in March

March 9, 2020 - Andrea Dorfman’s Spinster, starring Chelsea Peretti (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), will be acquired by Vertical Entertainment, who will distribute the film in the US and UK. The film, distributed in Canada by Game Theory Films, will make its US premiere on Monday March 9, 2020 in the Cinema 360 section at the 37th Miami Film Festival (March 6 to 15, 2020). Vertical Entertainment and Game Theory Films will release the film later this year.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Vertical on the release of Spinster in the US and UK. Just look at their titles, we’re in great company,” said Marc Tetreault, producer, Spinster.

Anchored by the signature humor of Chelsea Peretti, the film follows Gaby who, unceremoniously dumped on her 40th birthday, is petrified she’ll be alone forever. She embarks on a dating rampage only to discover that her problem isn’t that she doesn’t have a love life – it’s that she doesn’t have a life.

Joining Peretti is a stellar cast including Susan Kent (Trailer Park BoysHands That Bind), Nadia Tonen (Mr. D), Jonathan Watton (Murdoch Mysteries), and Amy Groening (Goon, Teen Lust).

The film is written by Jennifer Deyell, with cinematography by award-winner Stephanie Weber Biron (I Killed My MotherHeartbeats) and editing by Canadian Screen Award winner Simone Smith (FirecrackersNever Steady, Never Still).

Spinster is produced by Bill Niven, Marc Tetreault, Jay Dahl, and William Woods.
